Are there times when life just doesn’t seem to be going the way you have imagined it should or prefer that it would? Are there times in your life when your interaction with others is a source of great irritation? Of course there are! This is part of the human experience. And these interactions present us with wonderful learning opportunities.

There may be times when you feel irritable and confrontational in your relationships — relationships with your family, friends, acquaintances or even the clerk at the store. You might feel that others are resisting your ideas, not listening to you, not acting with the respect that each person deserves or simply being unfair. This perception of another person’s behavior often results in conflict or misunderstandings.

Yet, if you take a moment to step back from your emotions and release your attachment to the outcome, you will find you have the ability interact with others more easily and in more positive ways. Instead of trying to force your point of view upon others, you may choose to stay calm and maintain an open mind. Your relaxed attitude could cause people to warm towards you, your ideas and want to work cooperatively with you.

Since listening is such a large part of effective communication, you may also choose to work on gaining a clear understanding of what someone is trying to say rather than jumping to conclusions. So often, we do not say what we actually mean.

Our interactions with others take on a positive focus when we set an intention to work cooperatively with them. It is often our unwillingness to be flexible that creates disagreements and conflicts.

If we focus upon releasing our need to be right and our attachment to a specific outcome, we are able to communicate more clearly. Our willingness to listen to others will make them feel understood and accepted, and they will tend to be more willing to listen to us. We are then able to work more cooperatively together and come to an agreeable solution that everyone can be satisfied with.

Detaching from your emotions and opening your mind to what others have to say can ease any conflicts and lend a more positive focus to your interactions.

Remember: you only have the ability to control your own actions, your own thoughts, your own emotions. You do not have the ability to change another. So please avoid trying to “change” another then focus on yourself and allow others to be who they are. Listen. Listen. Listen. Try to understand others points of view. Then allow them to be exactly who they are while you are being exactly who you are. Once you embrace the concept of releasing your expectations of others, you will find that your own life will flow more smoothly. Life becomes easier when you act as an observer.

Dream Journey…

By · Comments (0)

Here are some tips to assist you in your dream journeys…

  1. NOTICE EVENTS OF THE FOLLOWING DAY.  As you go through your day, take time to notice.  Notice everything.  Does anything occur during your day that relates to your dream?  If so, make a note of it in your dream journal.  As an added bonus, the simple act of going through each day in the mind-set of noticing your surroundings will assist you in exercising your brain muscle plus becoming more in touch with your life.
  2. RE-READ YOUR DREAMS.  You may want to re-read dreams before you go to sleep each night or you may choose to simply review them as you are so moved.  As you re-read your dreams, you may choose to jot notes in your journal.  You may even see something for which you would like to receive additional clarity.
  3. SET YOUR INTENTIONS.  Immediately before going to sleep, set your intention for the guidance you would like to receive through your dreams that night.  The sky is the limit!  The more specific your intention, the more specific the Universe will be when revealing your answers for your highest and best good.  You may choose to also write your specific intention in your dream journal.  This will be of great assistance to you later as you review your dream journal.
  4. SETTING THE INTENTION TO HAVE COMPLETE RECALL.  Once you have set your specific intention, I would also highly recommend that you ask the Universe and your Angels to assist you with full recall and retention of your dreams.  Remind yourself that this is a simple, natural process.
  5. BE PLAYFUL; EXPERIMENT.  Try drinking a glass or two of water before bedtime.  Quite likely, you will need to visit the restroom at some point during the night.  This natural body cycle will probably occur immediately after a dream so this is prime time to write in your journal — before going to the restroom.
  6. UNDERSTANDING YOUR DREAMS.  As you journal, notice events during the day and journal correlations you have made, your ability to understand your own dreams will become increasing clearer.  There are many wonderful books on the subject that may also be of assistance.  My personal favorite is:  The Mystical Magical Marvelous World of Dreams by Wilda B. Tanner.
  7. YOUR BRAIN IS A MUSCLE.  Since your brain is, indeed, a muscle, it needs exercise.  You may find that it take more than just a few days to begin recalling your dreams.  But as you exercise, you will begin to remember more and more dreams and each dream will probably be recalled with much more clarity.  If you know that you had a dream but simply cannot remember, ask the Universe “what was I just doing” and listen for the answer.
  8. SLEEP.  Many, many scientific studies have reinforced the importance of sleep to our health — physical, mental and emotional.  I encourage you to ensure that you get the sleep your body needs for your own well being.  There are many charts available to give you suggestions for the specific number of hour’s sleep you need.  But only by paying close attention to your body will you discover the exact and perfect amount of sleep you need for maximum performance each day.

Dream Recall Techniques

Tips on Remembering More Dreams

One of our biggest barriers to dream recall and our ability to experience lucid dreaming (realizing during the dream that you are actually dreaming) is that our waking and dreaming memory aren’t connected nearly as well as they could be.  Through exercising the muscle of our brain, intention, practice and focus you will be well on your way to vividly remembering the contents of your dreams.

Making a consistent effort to remember and journal your dreams will greatly assist your waking mind to align itself more fully & closely with your dream experience.  This is also a wonderful exercise to increase your imagination plus your creative and intuitive capabilities — all of which are intimately connected with your dreams.

Here are few suggestions to assist you with your personal Dream Journey …

  1. YOU MUST MAKE A CONSIOUS CHOICE TO REMEMBER YOUR DREAMS.  First and foremost, you must want to remember your dreams.  You must feel that there is a benefit to you in the recollection of your dreams.  Without this desire, your motivation will soon fade away.
  2. FOCUS & ATTENTION.  Please understand that your ability to recall your dreams is an inherent and natural human trait.  Before young children have been conditioned by society that “it was just a dream”, they have been shown to have exceptional dream recall. Additionally, some native cultures are known include dream sharing within their daily routine.
  3. YOUR DREAM JOURNAL.  I cannot stress enough just how important it is to maintain a dream journal.  This is the place where you go instantly upon awakening to record all aspects of your dream so you will want to keep your dream journal and pen close to your bedside.  I would also like to suggest that you set up your dream journal either in two columns or leave room to write between each recorded dream.  This will give you an opportunity to make notes later on that dream and the relevance you have seen it had in your life.
  4. RECORDING YOUR DREAMS.  When you wake, I suggest that you remain in the same position with your eyes closed and begin to recall your dream as vividly as possible.  Then open your eyes, open your journal and begin writing.  Record every possible detail that you can remember about your dream.  As you journal, please do not try to overlay your analytical mind — simply record your remembrances.  As you write, use all 5 of your senses:  what did you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel?  How did you feel emotionally?  Were you frightened, excited, angry, sad, mad, and anxious?  Did you see colors?  Where were you?  Did your dream take place in the past, present or future?  Did you feel as if you were in another time period, decade or century?  Were you observing yourself in the dream or did you feel you were the character in your dream?  Did you see a symbol?  Simply write, and even draw, anything and everything that you can remember.  An alternative suggestion:  if you are one that does not feel comfortable trying to write immediately upon awakening, you may want to keep a recorder by your bed then transcribe the dream later into your journal.
